Milling Technology

FRANKEN has been busy developing milling tools since its foundation, and today there is an accordingly broad range of milling cutters of solid carbide and HSS, as well as milling bodies for indexable inserts, to show for it. Our programme includes end mills, slot drills, die-sinking cutters, shell end mills, gear cutters, and the most sophisticated special profile milling cutters. With this large variety of tool types and cutting materials, with its high standards and its uncompromising precision, our product range of milling cutters will answer to the most unyielding quality requirements.

In addition to our standard programme, we produce

  • Solid carbide milling cutters for dry machining and hard machining.
  • Solid carbide end mill Multi-Cut for demanding rough machining.
  • The HSS end mill Alu-Cut ensures a high process safety even under instable cirumstances.
  • Solid carbide end mills TiNox-Cut for Inox and materials difficult to be machined.
  • Indexable insert milling cutters for roughing and finishing work.

As a special offer for the die and mould industry, FRANKEN has developed a specific tool programme, consisting of insert-type end mills, screw-in and shell-type milling cutters but also of extra long solid carbide ball nose and torus cutters. In order to round off this milling cutter programme, we have developed a comprehensive system of adapters, reducing tools and clamping chucks.

In addition to the application-oriented consulting provided by our Technical Service Department, we can support our customers in the development of modern milling strategies on our own machines in our R&D Department.

If you want to find out which of our tools is the most economically efficient for your work case, please look into our sales literature or into our Electronic Catalogue "Tool Finder Web", or contact our specialists from the Technical Service Dept.
